how much power is needed to crush ice?
im looking at blenders (stick and bench top) to buy to make smoothies with, but im not sure if the wattage is high enough to crush ice. from online reviews, ive seen that a couple models which have 400+ watts are enough, but im looking to get either the cuisinart stick blender (300 watts, http://www.zanui.com.au/Stick-Blender%2C-Red-12365.html ) or the cuisinart chopping system (350 watts, http://www.zanui.com.au/Compact-Portable-Blending%2FChopping-System-12351.html )
also, if you have other models by other brands that are available in australia that make smoothies well, please recommend them! 
note: im a student, so my income is pretty low. under $100 would be fantastic.
